Studying Oceanic Lithosphere

The evolution of the oceanic lithosphere creates raw materials, influences the development of natural disasters and the climate [1]. The boundary layer between the crust and the upper mantle (Mohorovičić zone) has not been reached by drilling yet, but it is present on the continents in the form of ophiolites - rocks of oceanic origin. We plan to investigate the geology of the ophiolites, which is not yet known in detail, by muographic exploration of the large-scale density structure of the Oman and Balkan ophiolites.
