The third laboratory X-ray spectroscopy workshop will take place in Budapest on October 3-4, 2024, organized jointly by the HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics (Wigner RCP) and the HUN-REN Centre for Natural Sciences (TTK).
The lectures will be held at TTK, while on October 2, prior to the workshop, students will have the opportunity to try out the methods in a laboratory practice at Wigner RCP. High-energy-resolution laboratory X-ray spectroscopy offers material analysis techniques that can partially replace experiments traditionally considered feasible only at synchrotron facilities. The growing recognition of the importance of the information made more accessible and affordable by these techniques is drawing an expanding community, which will now gather in Budapest after Helsinki and Berlin. The event focuses on the development and scientific applications of laboratory X-ray emission and absorption crystal spectrometers.
