Title: Comparison of Gravitational Waveforms in General Relativity and Scalar–Tensor Theories

Date: Friday, 16 October 2026, 14:00–15:00

Venue: Wigner RCP, Building III, Council Room

Abstract: The study of gravitational waveforms is an important part of modern gravitational-wave research. It makes it possible to investigate the detectability of phenomena predicted by general relativity, such as spin flip-flops. It also provides a way to test general relativity, for example by searching for scalar dipole radiation arising in scalar–tensor theories. In my talk, I will present these two research projects in the context of the LISA space-based detector and the third-generation Einstein Telescope. The main question of my research is how well the signal of interest can be distinguished from a similar waveform that does not contain the effect under investigation.
