Effective models of semiconductor bands, describing their electronic structure, provide a shortcut to transport properties as compared to more general ab initio approach. Few of such models address magnetically ordered systems and of these, useful options to account for antiferromagnets (AFMs) are very limited. Manganese telluride is a well-established AFM semiconductor whose transport properties have been extensively studied [1] and an effective model of its valence band has been proposed [2]. In this talk, it will be shown how sensitive the electronic structure of MnTe is to its AFM magnetic order and the way to modelling the anisotropic magnetoresistance and anomalous Hall effect.
