The main research interest of our department is the Solar System and its physical processes. This is a complex system of interactions that includes the study of the solar interior, its physical processes, and the effects of the solar wind and the interplanetary magnetic field on the ionospheres and magnetospheres of planets, moons, and other objects in our Solar System (such as comets). We are also interested in comparing and finding analogies between different plasma environments. Furthermore, it is crucial to understand how our immediate cosmic environment can affect our own planet, so space weather is another important area of focus.

To address these questions, we use scientific data collected from several different space missions. We are actively involved in international mission teams, participating in data analysis and the publication of new results. Our team has been engaged in several major space missions from the earliest planning stages, through the development, building, and testing of onboard instruments, to the evaluation of measurements from space. In our team, scientists and engineers work together to accomplish these complex tasks and to maintain successful international cooperation.
