After a brief review of our paper T. Matolcsi – P. Ván: Radiation reaction: charge distributions of point charges? the questions of electromagnetic energies and forces are discussed systematically in the framework of Distribution Theory. The usual radiation self-force of a point charge is obtained in a mathematically exact way and it is pointed out that this does not call forth that the spacetime motion of a point particle obeys the Lorentz–Abraham–Dirac equation.
