In high-energy heavy ion physics, several branches of physics are applied, therefore, research done in this field also encompasses quite a wide set of topics. Research directions extend from the fundamental concepts of classical and modern thermodynamics, hydrodynamics, and quantum theory to perturbative and non-perturbative quantum colour dynamics, high-energy nuclear physics, hadronization and hadron phenomenology. Our results contribute to the interpretation of the measurements from the biggest international experiments (e.g. CERN-LHC, BNL-RHIC) and from future installations (GSI-FAIR, Dubna-NICA). They also promote understanding the processes of the early universe and the inner structure of compact stars.

We have managed to forge a collaboration with a great number of international theoretical research groups such as the Goethe Institute (Germany), LBNL (US), CCNU (China), UNAM (Mexico) or ERI (Japan).
